About China

Housing a population of over 1.428 billion, China is a country situated in East Asia sprawling across 9,600,00 square kilometers. The Communist Party of China governs the country. China was one of the 4 earliest civilizations to come to existence in the world. With the Yangtze River and Yellow River as its base and cradles, China is home for various ethnic groups. The common language spoken in the region is Mandarin. The Great Wall, Dragon Tattoo, Panda are some of the significant symbols in Chinese Culture. Chinese Money is regarded by two names: the people's Renminbi (RMB) and the Yuan (CNY).

While the official currency of China used as an exchange medium is Renminbi, Yuan is the base unit of an account associated with the country's financial and social system.

As per China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over 444,000 International students chose China as their study destination in the year 2016. Students are driven to come to China, ranking the country third globally alongside US and UK.

The total share of International Students seeking higher education has increased by 13% in the last 10 years.

The government is heavily investing in students by providing tons of scholarships and funding opportunities. Currently, 40,000 scholarships across 277 institutions are being provided. In 2015, 40% of the International Students received scholarships.

Medical Curriculum

During the years of 2016-17, the minimum qualifying percentage was changed from 50% to 60%. From the year 2019, The Medical Council of India made it mandatory to appear for National Entrance Cum Eligibility Test (NEET) for students applying abroad.

Universities in China do not require any of the language tests. Students are not asked to pay heavy donations or capitation fees. International students can apply for various scholarships offered by the Chinese government.

Language is not much of a barrier as the curriculum is majorly taught in English across many universities. The duration of the program is that of 5+1 years, one year solely dedicated to internships.

It follows a standard six years of the professional degree program (5 + 1) for the students. More importantly, it also follows European education standards for Universities, making it a great option for students across the globe. A student will go through a meticulous curriculum for five years and then get an internship for the next year.

Apart from learning the standard medicinal practices and applications, a student also has an opportunity to learn Chinese medicine. As Chinese medicine is globally recognized for great benefits, it includes subjects like pressure points, herbs, and several other practices. Hence, giving a student and overall better competitive edge with a new set of skills in the medical field.

Students also learn about Chinese cultures and practices. Furthermore, they can also opt to learn the Chinese language and increase their proficiency as a global-level medical professional. While the Education of Ministry has listed the Universities allowed to take international students with the English language as the medium, other universities are free to enroll any student who is already proficient in speaking mandarin (Mandarin is the Chinese language).
