About Art Academy of Latvia, Latvia

The Art Academy of Latvia (AAL) is an institution of higher education and scientific research in art, located in Riga, Latvia. It was founded in 1919, at the same time when the Republic of Latvia was formed, and has been the leading art university in Latvia for more than 100 years.

The AAL offers studies in 20 specialties, which are divided into five faculties:

The AAL is located in a beautiful neo-Gothic building on Krišjānis Valdemārs Street, next to the National Museum of Art. The building was designed by architect V. L. Bokslafs and was completed in 1908.
