Internships are a crucial part of the legal education system at HLU. The university facilitates internships for students in their third or fourth year of undergraduate studies, as well as during graduate programs. These internships provide hands-on experience and often serve as a stepping stone to full-time job offers.

Alumni Mentorship: Senior lawyers and legal experts from the alumni network provide mentorship opportunities to students, guiding them in navigating their careers and helping them establish professional connections.
High Employment Rate: HLU graduates are highly sought after in the legal field, with the majority of students securing employment within 6 months to a year after graduation, either in Vietnam or internationally.
Legal Profession: A significant percentage of HLU graduates become practicing lawyers or legal consultants.
Government and Public Sector: Many graduates enter government positions, becoming judges, prosecutors, or public defenders.
Average Starting Salary:
For entry-level legal associates in law firms: 10,000,000–20,000,000 VND/month (400–800 USD).
For positions in multinational companies or international law firms, salaries can be higher.
In-house legal counsel roles typically start at around 15,000,000–25,000,000 VND/month (600–1,000 USD).

National High School Exam Scores:
Admission Cutoff Scores: Each year, the university sets a minimum score (điểm sàn) for admissions based on student performance in subjects such as Literature, History, and Foreign Languages. The competition is intense, and students with the highest scores are given priority.
Competitive Nature: Law is a highly sought-after field in Vietnam, so the number of applicants is usually much higher than the available slots.
Quota for Admission:
HLU follows a quota system where a certain number of students are admitted each year based on available resources, faculty capacity, and classroom size.
The university reserves slots for students from disadvantaged backgrounds or priority groups (e.g., ethnic minorities or students from rural areas), which may affect the overall acceptance rate for general applicants.
Special Admissions for Graduate Programs:
For graduate programs (Master’s and PhD), admissions are based on entrance exams and the research proposal (for PhD applicants). The number of spots for these programs is often limited, making the process selective.
Given that HLU is a top-tier law school and admission is based on high school exam performance, it is estimated that the acceptance rate could range from 10% to 20% for its undergraduate programs. This estimate reflects the competitive nature of admissions but may vary slightly from year to year depending on the overall applicant pool and the cutoff scores.
For graduate programs, the acceptance rate might be lower, around 5% to 15%, due to the limited number of seats and the additional requirements such as entrance exams and research experience.
