Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) is a public university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The University was inaugurated in June 2008, and it is one of the youngest universities in the nation. The Bangladesh University of Professionals is the 31st public university of Bangladesh run by the Bangladesh Armed Forces in Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. The University offers programs at Undergraduate, Graduate, Postgraduate, Certification levels.
The Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) was incepted for expanding and integrating the existing educational and training institutes of the armed forces. BUP is a distinct public university run by the armed forces with the motto Excellence through knowledge. The university is confident in advancing the knowledge in the field of national security, technology, and modern science to achieve the desired human resources development of the country. It strives to develop the civil and military human capital through advanced education and research to keep pace with the knowledge-based society of the contemporary world. The BUP has a large and beautiful campus that is located in the urban city of Dhaka. It is newly constructed with advanced facilities. BUP has a library with a collection of over 6,800 books and numerous periodicals, magazines, and Bangla & English newspapers. Presently, BUP has over 700 computers with internet connection in its classrooms, computer labs, cyber center, language center, and different administrative offices to conduct student education, research activities, and daily operational job. High-speed Wi-Fi connections are available in all the places of BUP campus for all teachers, officers, employees, and students. Concerning student accommodation, Bangladesh University of Professionals is a new University, and it does not have any dedicated student housing building. However, the University authority has rented six buildings at Mirpur DOHS to accommodate its students.
Students of various origins come to study at this University. For the students, the University has a cafeteria for light refreshments as well as healthful meals. There are various facilities available at the Bangladesh University of Professionals, including a cultural and research center, fitness center, library, playgrounds, sports complex, and much more. In BUP, apart from academics, the students get plenty of options to prove and groom themselves. Students can exhibit their talent through various activities like dance, drama, singing, among others.
At their residence, all the hostel rooms of the University are recently constructed, well-furnished, and have all essential facilities needed for healthy living. Also, the entire BUP campus is under video surveillance, so you will always feel safe and secure. The college has bus facilities for students and staff and faculties for smooth mobility.
