The Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy is among the oldest public higher education institutes in Ukraine. It was founded in September 1916 from the Ekaterynoslavsky higher female courses Institute. The Institute acquired the status of State Academy in 1920. Then, by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 20 April 1994, it became the Dnipropetrovsk State Medical University (DSMU) in Ukraine in 1994. Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) is one of the most honorable higher education foundations of Ukraine, with the fourth and most astounding level of accreditation in Ukraine. Presently, more than 2000 International students are studying in DSMA in Undergraduate and Post-graduate fields. International students from India, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and many other countries from Asia, Africa, & Europe are pursuing their medical studies at DSMU.

The Academy has the highest - fourth level of accreditation among all universities of Ukraine. Courses Offered by Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy

The courses offered by the Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy are enlisted below:

• General Medicine: The medicine course has a duration of six years and leads to the M.D. degree. This medical study is research-based and covers various subjects from fundamental to special medical subjects.

• Dentistry: The duration of the Dentistry course (BDS) at Dnipropetrovsk Academy is five years. The Dentistry faculty of this University is considered one of the best in Europe.

• Nursing: Under the Nursing course, clinical and nursing subjects are taught to the students. This course involves two academic years for the full-time program and three years for the part-time program.

• Pharmacy: The pharmacy study has a duration of five academic years. Graduates get the diploma of a pharmacist on successful completion of the course.

• Pediatrics: The syllabus for this course is much similar to that of general medicine, but much attention is paid to the peculiarities of the vitality of the infantile organism.

• Preparatory courses: In 1990, the Preparatory faculty for foreign citizens started. The highly skilled staff teaches the Preparatory courses to international students.

University & Accommodation of Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy

The city of Dnipropetrovsk is the primary Industrial city of Ukraine. The Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) campus has a sanatorium, academic library, a sports complex, a techno-center, two museums, and a vivarium. All the amenities required for a conducive learning environment are there. Besides, for student housing, the Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy has seven hostels for students with an area of around 46000 sq m, where 2849 students can stay. The International students reside in hostels no. 1, 5, and 7. Altogether DMA has seven hostels situated in various regions of the city, which are connected to the Academy by modern transport like tramway, trolley-transport, bus, etc.

Student Life at Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy

Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy offers a multi-cultural environment to all the students, as a large number of international students from almost every part of the world, including India come to study at this University. So, even an international student feels homely at this University. Hostels are there for the convenient accommodation of the students. All hostel rooms are well furnished and vary in size. Dormitory rooms at the hostel can accommodate 2 or 3 students per room. Each hostel has a separate kitchen provided for students where they can cook the food of their taste, though students will need to bring their kitchen utensils. All rooms are equipped with a bed, pillow, mattress, chair, cupboard, desk, central heating, Internet access, and suitable lighting for both study and comfortable accommodation of the students. Moreover, students can choose their roommates at their convenience. Alongside, Indian food is available. Both veg and non-veg meals are available at the mess system of the University.
