About Sumy State University

The Sumy State University is a higher education institution in Sumy, Ukraine. It is a not-for-profit, public University nestled in the urban setting of the Sumy city. It has around 12,000 students studying pre-bachelor, bachelor, specialist, and master degrees in 55 majors and 23 fields. About 1,900 foreign students represent almost 50 countries across the world. The University also has a branch campus in Konotop and Shostka. Today, it is the leading University of a classical type with the III-IV accreditation level in the region. The Sumy State University is acknowledged and accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.

Being officially recognized, the Sumy State University is a large coeducational Ukrainian higher education institution. The main aim of the University is to focus on the development of the students. The Sumy State University offers 12 courses across five prominent streams, namely Medical, Engineering, Law, Media & Mass Communication, and Management as five notable degrees, which are MBBS, B.Tech, LLB, BBA, BA. Notably, the University is popular for its MBBS course. The MBBS program at the Sumy State University has a course duration of six years, including five years of academic learning and a one-year mandatory internship. Moreover, the University offers hands-on experience with patients through its affiliated hospitals.

Student Life at Sumy State University

There is enticing student life at the Sumy State University. Hostels and Indian mess are available for international students. Gyms and reading halls are also available at the hostels. On the ground floor, there is a cafeteria so that students can relax in their free time. The students can stay at private apartments from the 2nd year onwards, but the first-year students need to compulsorily stay at the government hostel. Besides, the Indian students studying MBBS at Sumy State University get ample clinical exposure from the third year of their classes and can interact with patients at the very early stage of their education.

The University has a department of physical education and sports that manages sports, events, competitions and provides consultation in respective sports. The students can also participate in different clubs and activities related to dancing groups, reading groups, literacy workshops, drama groups, numerous theatre groups, volunteering, and more.
