Bachelor's and Master's Programs: Fees for non-EU/EEA students typically range from EUR 2,000 to EUR 4,000 per academic year. Some specialized programs, particularly in fields like Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, or Business, can be higher, ranging from EUR 3,000 to EUR 8,000 per academic year.
PhD Programs: Many PhD programs do not charge tuition fees, especially for students involved in research projects. However, for those that do, fees can range from EUR 2,000 to EUR 4,000 per year.
Bachelor's and Master's Programs: Tuition fees at private universities can vary significantly but generally range from EUR 3,000 to EUR 6,000 per academic year. Some prestigious programs, particularly MBA programs, can charge significantly higher fees, sometimes as much as EUR 8,000 to EUR 12,000 per academic year.
PhD Programs: Fewer private institutions offer PhD programs, but those that do may charge fees similar to their public counterparts or slightly higher.
1. Competitive Programs: Programs in fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Law tend to be more competitive with lower acceptance rates due to their high demand and limited seats.
2. Technical and Engineering Programs: Universities known for their engineering and technical programs, like Warsaw University of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology, may also have more competitive admissions, especially for highly sought-after specialties.
3. Business and Economics: Programs at institutions like the Warsaw School of Economics are highly competitive with lower acceptance rates due to their reputation and strong job placement records.
4. Humanities and Social Sciences: Programs in the humanities and social sciences may have higher acceptance rates, particularly for courses taught in Polish.
Polish universities are generally welcoming to international students, including those from India, as part of their internationalization policies.
Non-EU students may face slightly higher entrance criteria in certain cases, especially when applying for programs where language proficiency in English (or Polish for programs taught in Polish) is crucial.
Some universities set specific quotas for international students, which can increase the chances of acceptance for applicants from countries outside of the EU.
Research: Identify the universities and programs that align with your academic and career goals. Consider factors like the university's reputation, program curriculum, faculty, tuition fees, and campus location.
Requirements: Check specific entry requirements for each program, which can include language proficiency, specific grades, and prerequisite courses.
Undergraduate Programs: Typically require a high school diploma or equivalent. You may need to pass an entrance exam or submit a secondary school certificate.
Postgraduate Programs: Require a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree. Some programs might require professional experience or specific qualifications, such as GMAT or GRE scores for business-related programs.
Language Requirements: Non-native English speakers generally need to prove their English proficiency through tests like IELTS or TOEFL. Programs taught in Polish require proficiency in Polish, which can be demonstrated by passing the Certificate Exam in Polish as a Foreign Language.
Documentation: Gather all necessary documents, which typically include:
Educational transcripts and diplomas
Proof of language proficiency
CV/Resume
Motivation letter
Letters of recommendation (mainly for postgraduate programs)
Passport-size photos
Copy of passport
Translation: Ensure all documents are translated into English or Polish by a sworn translator if they are not already in one of these languages.
Application Portal: Many Polish universities use online application systems where you can upload your documents and track the status of your application.
Deadlines: Be aware of application deadlines, which can vary by university and program. Typically, applications for the fall semester close around June or July, but it's crucial to check specific dates well in advance.
Review Process: After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by the admissions committee. Some programs might invite you for an interview, which can be conducted online or in person.
Entrance Exams: Some programs, especially in arts or engineering, require entrance exams as part of the admissions process.
Notification: Universities typically notify applicants of their admission decision via email or through the online application portal.
If accepted, you will need to formally accept the offer and register for your classes. This stage may involve paying a registration fee or part of the tuition fee.
Non-EU/EEA Students: Apply for a student visa or residence permit if you are from outside the EU/EEA. This process includes showing proof of sufficient funds to cover your living expenses in Poland and a health insurance plan.
EU/EEA Students: Usually do not need a visa but must register their stay if it exceeds three months.
Accommodation: Arrange your living accommodations. Universities often provide student dormitories, or you can rent an apartment.
Orientation: Participate in orientation programs offered by the university to help you acclimate to the new environment and meet other students.

For students from the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland, public universities in Poland offer free tuition for courses taught in Polish. These students are eligible to study without tuition fees, provided they meet the same requirements that apply to Polish students, which typically includes passing the "matura" exam or its equivalent. However, courses taught in English or other foreign languages might have tuition fees even for EU/EEA students.
Non-EU/EEA students are generally required to pay tuition fees at public universities in Poland. The fees can vary significantly depending on the university and the program. Typically, for English-taught programs:
Bachelor's and Master's Programs: Fees can range from approximately EUR 2,000 to EUR 4,000 per academic year.
PhD Programs: Fees might be around EUR 3,000 per year, but many PhD students find funding or positions that cover these costs.
