Manipal College of Medical Sciences is another path-breaking institute dedicated to imparting medical education to students in Nepal. The foundation of this college took place as early as 1994 and has been running with vigor ever since. The MBBS course was introduced at this college right from its initiation. The college is accompanied by a 700 bedded Teaching hospital that was added in 1998. The Manipal College of Medical Sciences is affiliated with Kathmandu University. The Manipal College of Medical Sciences observes the high quality of healthcare and education. The college has been conceived as a result of a collaboration between the Government of Nepal and the Manipal Group. The college and the teaching hospital function from two different campuses. The basic sciences department is located at Deep Heights while the teaching hospital lies at Phulbari. The Manipal College of Medical Sciences has gained recognition from various national and international bodies such as the Medical Council of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and even WHO (World Health Organization) and FAIMER.

According to recent data, the college allots 100 seats for MBBS in each academic year. The entire span of securing the MBBS degree at this institution is a standard of 4.5 years followed by a compulsory internship for 1 year. The major subjects on which medical knowledge is imparted include Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine Part-I, Biochemistry, etc. The campus at Deep Heights housing the Basic Sciences department holds classes for medical students during the 1st and 2nd year of their course program. The latter half of the program is dedicated to introducing students to hands-on training and clinical aspects of their education. For accomplishing the purpose the Teaching Hospital at Phulbari is always available for the students.

The clinical subjects that are made familiar to students at this phase are Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Opthalmology, Forensic medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology, and Obstetrics, etc. Postgraduate courses like MD/MS/DM are taught here along with Certificate courses in Nursing like B.Sc and PCL.

The campus at Deep Heights lies upon 8 acres of land that houses student hostels along with academic buildings. There are separate quarters for male and female students provided with basic amenities.
