Nepal Medical College, Kathmandu (NMC)

Among Nepal's prestigious institutions for studying medicine in Nepal Medical College abbreviated as NMC. The college was founded by the late Sachey Kumar Pahari in the year of 1997. The institute is located at Attarkhel of Jorpati village in Kathmandu which is the capital city of Nepal. The college bears an affiliation to Kathmandu University. The college is accompanied by a hospital facility housing 700 beds as well as a prominent research unit. Currently, the position of principal of this college is held by Mr. Pramod Kumar Chhetri and it runs under the able -leadership of Chairman Mr. Bhola Rijal. The college bears the stamp of approval from the Nepal Medical Council. Admission at this college is entirely merit-based and requires students to qualify for a screening test. The other criteria include the age of students to exceed 17 years, 10+2 subjects to include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with the aggregate score in all three subjects to be at least 50% which is a pretty much standard prerequisite for admission at all medical colleges and universities of Nepal. Qualifying the NEET-UG examination is required of Indian students. Students with a satisfactory score in the KUSMS Entrance exam are also accepted at this institution. The primary goal of the institute is to produce competent medical professionals.

The course is tenured at a duration of 4.5 years along with 1 year of mandatory internship training.
