Coronavirus and the effects on the application process

If you've wanted to research this year, that indicates you've already begun the application process. And, yeah, this pandemic is happening at the worst possible moment. But the educational year starting in 2020 could not have yet been wasted. Much of the university classes around the world typically commence in September-October. Although it is impossible to predict for sure when the propagation of the virus would plateau or begin to decline, certain predictions suggest the time between May and July, at least in the United Kingdom. It's up to us to do this if we stay at home and do our best to stop the virus from spreading. Before all this is done, it's nice to learn that several colleges are still also approving electronic student applications at this period. Whether this scenario lasts through July (which is possible), universities must respond to these changing situations. The colleges' areas impacted by the scenario as the candidates are, so they must modify the preparation so enrolment time frames to accommodate the adjustment to the academic year timetable. Since there is already several various knowledge circulated in the newspapers, make sure you keep aware regarding the dissemination of COVID-19 from authoritative outlets such as the World Health Organization (WHO). So, if you can, keep going through the recruitment process. It is always a smart idea to approach universities for more details. Many colleges have online application systems, meaning you won't have to head to the institution to apply.

Globally, several teachers and students have been enthusiastic about switching to the online communication style. The Faculty has also started writing lesson plans to offer electronic instruction to their pupils. Online education is not a new method of operation for any college. Many staff members are trained to use online learning platforms either as the only mode of delivery or as an add-on to face-to-face teaching. There is always a possibility, however, that certain faculty who are not tech-savvy may not be capable of dealing with this method. Several colleges have already canceled the final semester exams, although the on-line courses will continue to be assessed regularly.

There are also overseas students studying at colleges who are unwilling to return to their homes in this crucial circumstance. Although universities are closing campuses, it is necessary to note that many students do not have any other basic amenities outside these campuses. Extension of stay due to delays in exams can trigger a monetary issue. Those who handle to get home are worried that their studies will be disrupted. Many students may not have the appropriate system at home, such as books, laptops, and high-speed Internet connectivity. Again, the disturbance caused by COVID-19 may affect the acceptance of foreign students to the upcoming academic session.

Disadvantages of studying MBBS in Ukraine

(i) Climate - Ukraine faces rough climatic conditions for most of the year, with temperatures touching as low as 0 degrees Celsius. This can make it harder for international students to settle into the weather. However, the central heating system is well implemented in most buildings in Ukraine, thus keeping it warm indoors.

(ii) Local Language - Students are required to learn the Ukrainian language as a part of the curriculum. If the student gets quickly acclimatized with the language, he/she can gain a competitive edge against other students and can mix well with the locals. However, if the student is unable to grasp the language, he/she may face struggles when it comes to interacting with local patients.

(iii) Duration of the Course - The course duration for Medicine in Ukraine is about 6 years, which is longer than in most Asian countries.

(iv) Fraudulent Agents - A lot of Indian students may encounter fraudulent agents, promising to guarantee admission into a Ukrainian university of their choice for a heavy fee. Many potential candidates fall prey to this trap and end up losing money. It is extremely important to undertake good research and hire only those agents that have tie-ups with medical schools in Ukraine.

(v) European Curriculum - The European Curriculum is great because it focuses on the holistic and all-round development of the student. Students from other curriculums may take time to adjust to this approach of learning and thus prolong the time they settle into their course.

MBBS in Ukraine Fee Structure

Lots of students having a dream to become a doctor in the future and they want to start the career by putting the “Dr.” prefix before their name. With this kind of ambition, they are going to take admission in stream science with biology subject or with biology group after completing the 10th board exam with good percentage. IIn 12th they have to appear in 12th board examination and then for further admission process of that particular student he or she must have to appear in the entrance exam related to the medical examination. Then and then only he or she will be able to get a chance in the admission process in medical college. This is all about the short note on becoming a doctor. But you must have to focus on which college do you want to complete your MBBS degree? This question will be the most important factor which affects your career. If you will miss here then no one can save you.  Before you going to take a part in the admission process you must have to think about whether you want to do MBBS in-country or outside of the country?

Major students want to complete the MBBS degree in the country like Ukraine.  Ukraine is one of those countries which is been chosen by lots of people to study due to their high standards of education in every field. Also, it will be less costly to live in Ukraine as compared to other countries. In Ukraine medical colleges they don’t demand the donation and also there are lots of scholarships for the brilliant students. Also, the lots of students came from lots of different countries hence the international bonding with each other will become strong. But as all of us know that that the coin has two sides and just like this if there are advantages of studying MBBS in Ukraine then you must have to take a glance at the disadvantages also. Hello everyone, myself Nilesh Patil, and I are here to put some major disadvantages of studying MBBS in Ukraine. The below we will see it one by one:

1. Weather :

The most impact-full factor which affects the student’s health is whether present their. Because as if you are going to search on the google about the temperature or the weather condition of the country Ukraine then you will get that the temperature of Ukraine always varies between -5 to 20 degree this means extreme cold weather. And for the Indian students, it will become a more bad thing because in India 10 to 45 degree. That’s why it will become a bit more problematic for the students who want to complete the MBBS from Ukraine and travel from India to Ukraine. Hence, the weather will be the one kind of disadvantage in completing MBBS in Ukraine.

2. Communication:

As all of us know that better communication will be done only when persons who communicate with each other will definitely know the language and then it will be good communication. But in Ukraine, it is the drawback that lots of institutes are not going to prefer the English language instead of English they are going to use their mother tongue. So if you are going to take the admission then you must have to check the communication language of that institute. If it is understandable then it is ok but if it is not understandable then you must have to learn the language. Hence, this one is also a disadvantage of studying MBBS in Ukraine.

3. Cheater Agents:

Lots of students are going to be the victim of fraud regarding this education outside of India. Be aware because if agents will tell you that you can complete your MBBS course in only 4 years then he is going to loot you because there is no country which is going for the only 4 years of MBBS course. This is only possible in the Philippines. Also, just don’t hand over all money regarding your education to the agent. Just be careful and examine his mind and gather lots of information, research on that. It will help for you to choose the best medical college in Ukraine.

4. Food:

If you came from India to complete the MBBS in Ukraine then you must have to sacrifice the taste of the food which is present in India. In Ukraine, you can get Indian food but the taste will affect your body. You have to accept the situation and have to study harder and harder. If you eat properly then and then only you will be able to study because syllabus of MBBS is very vast and have to cover it because of the time limit of completion of MBBS. Hence, I would like to put this at the disadvantage of studying MBBS in Ukraine.

5. Culture:

As Ukraine is a European country then it will follow the European culture. In European country there are, there is night club, dancing bars, etc are present. But the student doesn’t have to distract from his study and academic work. According to my study and research in the drugs and alcohol cases, there are 70% of the students were involved. So, you have to understand what is right and what is wrong. Just stay with your main moto don’t distract from it for the things like parties and clubbing. If you will be able to do your best for studying MBBS in the 6 years of course then no one can stop you from becoming the best doctor in the entire world. Hence. this is also one kind of disadvantage of studying MBBS in Ukraine.

These are the most important disadvantages of studying MBBS in Ukraine. All of the mentions above were researched by me and I hope that this will help you.

According to my opinion is the student who has the potential to do something great in this world or we can say a student who wants to be a great doctor and wants to create the best image will not be affected by such disadvantages. Such students know their family conditions and they will never do something like they feel very bad in front of their family members. This is all about the disadvantage of studying MBBS in Ukraine and I hope that this will definitely help you to choose your career in the medical field. Studying harder and harder is the only key to become a successful doctor in life. You must have to be alert as the doctor because you don’t know which kind of patient is there in front of you and how you going to treat him. The presence of the mind is also important. These all things will help to be a good doctor to you. With this, I would like to stop writing. I would like to wishing you a great future ahead.

Beware of Fraud Study-Abroad Consultants

With the number of international admissions increasing around the world, many Indian students look up to agents to help them out with securing admission into the university of their choice. Long admission procedures and a lack of access to information result in students completely trusting agents to carry out the paperwork and act as a link between them and the university. In recent times, however, there is an increase in fraudulent agents in the market, who dupe candidates and present misinformation, leading to discrepancies in the applicant's candidature.

MBBS Admission in Ukraine

The most common types of fraud observed :

(i) Unrecognized Universities - Many agents help students secure their admission abroad, but to a completely unrecognized university. Always look up the authenticity and credentials of the university before joining. It should be recognized by relevant authorities of the country.

(ii) Guaranteed Visa - Many students fall prey to false claims of agents to guarantee visa into the country of their choice for a hefty sum. It is to be noted that no agent can guarantee a visa to the country as the country's embassy is the only authority in charge of visa applications and grants.

(iii) Guaranteed Admission - The university admissions committee is the only authority responsible for college applications and an agent is merely a link between the candidate and the university. No agent can guarantee you fixed admission into any university, and such a claim should be dismissed as a fraud.

(iv) Misinformation - The candidate must do his/her research on the college details, visa fees, course and accommodation fees, intake season, etc. Many agents can misrepresent such information and can mislead you.

What to look out for :

(i) When approached by any agent, always look out for the credentials of the agent before signing the deal with them.

(ii) Research on the agency - Always look up online testimonials, reviews, and ratings of the agency. This gives an almost accurate picture of the agency and can aid in the decision-making process.

MCI Approved Medical Colleges in Ukraine

(iii) Researching about the parent company and the operations of the company is a must, always be sure to ask them about their schemes in detail and understand the way their processes work.

This is to maintain the teacher-student ratio, which is said to be at 1:15.  The intake of students is pretty rigorous and only the best of the best applications are granted admission. It is imperative to have an attractive college application with good scores and achievements to make it into medical universities in Ukraine. Let us look at the intake procedure for Indian students in Ukraine.

- There are two seasons for intakes.

-  The first intake takes place in September-October for all universities.

- The second intake happens in March. This is for about 3-4 specified universities. Only those universities which have remaining seats from the first intake can open for the second intake in March.

- Admission letters for the first intake (Sep-Oct) will be issued in the months of June and July of that year.

- Admission to top universities in Ukraine generally ends by August, so it is a good idea to complete your application early.

- Seats in Ukraine are allotted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The relevance of the candidature also plays a major role in the admission process.

- The last dates for intakes are usually the end of October and Feb for both the seasons.

- Arrive in Ukraine at least 5-7 days before admission to complete all necessary formalities before the joining date.

Educational Loan and Financial advice to parents

The fee structure for Medical courses in Ukraine is quite affordable. Students who wish to take up educational loans can do so by approaching banks in India. The loan is usually undertaken in the name of the student, who is expected to repay the loan upon receiving employment, in the form of EMIs.Although the loan is in the student’s name, some part of it is usually co-borrowed by the student’s guardians to secure the repayment of the loan. There are different types of banks offering loans at various interest rates. One should choose the bank that matches their requirements and does not charge a hefty interest rate. Approach either a Public or Private sector bank in your area to procure loan services.

Public Sector banks provide 3 slabs of loan services that can be availed as per convenience. These banks also look into past records and backgrounds to ensure the potential repayment of the loan. To avail a loan of INR 4 Lacs, parents' income proof needs to be submitted, For a loan of INR 7.5 lacs, Guarantor’s income proof is to be submitted and for loans exceeding an amount of INR 20 Lacs, additional collateral security may have to be submitted.

Most educational loans work on a 10-15 year return period with a 1 year Moratorium period upon completion of the course(where the student can look for employment opportunities). Interest rates on educational loans come up to 12%.

National Exit Test (NEXT) coaching in Ukraine

Also known as the National Exit Examination, NEXT looks to be an all India level based exam designed to judge both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding developed by MBBS enrolled medical students. The examination will be implemented by 2022, according to the Health Ministry of India. NEXT will play a major role in assessing the proficiency of medical students upon the completion of MBBS and their eligibility to undertake an MD/MS. It will be considered a mandatory check towards the eligibility of the candidate to take up courses both in India and abroad. It is said to replace both NEET and FMGE, 2 common medical examinations given for medical certifications. The importance of NEXT cannot be understated, and it is best for students to consider learning from an online institute to be well-prepared for the examination. Securing an admission into a medical school in Ukraine will be reliant on the scores obtained in the NEXT examination in the future.

Roadmap to study MD/MS after MBBS in Ukraine

Pursuing MBBS in Ukraine can open a plethora of opportunities once you complete your course. Taking up Postgraduate degrees like MD/MS post completion of your MBBS course can help expand your expertise on the subject as well as gain better employment opportunities both in India and abroad. Let us look at the options you can consider to pursue your MD/ MS post MBBS in Ukraine.

Broadly, there are 2 popular options that are undertaken by medical students to continue their further education in medicine. One can either opt for an MD in USA or an MD from Germany. We shall touch upon this in detail.

I. MD from Germany

Most educational institutions in Germany are free of cost. This makes it a lucrative opportunity for Doctors to complete their PG from a recognized university in Germany. The procedure of securing admission into a German university will take about 6-8 months of preparation.

Step 1: Learning the German Language- Involves clearing levels A1 and A2 of learning German online. Once this is done, approach a Government approved language learning centre to secure admission into an institute in Germany to clear TELC B2 and C1 levels of learning German.

Step 2: Procuring your “observership” completion certificate- Works on similar levels as that of an internship, one needs to procure this certification from a German medical hospital licensed under the German Medical Council. Usually lasts for anywhere between 1-6 months.

Step 3: Approbation- This basically translates into registering yourself as a Medical Practitioner in Germany and completing the required formalities for the same.

Step 4: Securing admission and managing accommodation in Germany

II. MS from USA

An MS from the USA is yet another popular option taken up by Medical professionals upon completing their MBBS in Ukraine. According to the AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges), there will be a dearth of about 12,00,00 physicians in the United States by 2030. USA has thus opened its doors to foriegn nationals seeking to study and practice medicine in the USA. Doctors need to give the USMLE test under different levels to be able to secure admission into a well-recognised college in the USA. As compared to NEET, this exam is less tough, however the candidate needs to perform exceptionally well to be able to crack the exam.

Some other options you can look out for:

  1. Attempting and completing PLAB, to continue practicing in UK.

  2. Appearing for AMC to practice in Australia.

  3. Practice in India after a certification from the MCI.

  4. How the Right Consultant can help shape your career

Getting the right consultant for you is an important task in order to access all the information related to the university, admission procedure, deadlines etc. The right consultant can guide you in the right direction and help you understand the pros and cons of opting for different courses and universities. Even in the day and age of the Internet, many students find themselves confused on how to go about securing admission and do not possess relevant information on the university before applying. This is where a consultant plays an important role in steering the student onto the right path, clearing doubts and aiding in the operations process. The right consultant will not just help understand the details of the university, but will also bring to the table all the relevant information associated with procuring admission. He will assess your eligibility and then bring forth options that suit your application. He will work as a link between the candidate and the university and expedite the admission process from his end. The right consultant will have tie-ups with various service providers and ensure that your admission experience is smooth and hassle-free.Let us look at some of the services provided by consultants to help you secure admission into your dream school.

  1. Information and Research - Consultants can help with getting you the right information and giving you a pathway for you to be able to do your own research. This can help in you getting a better understanding on the universities and courses in Ukraine and what you would really like to pursue.

  2. Documentation - Agencies and consultancies take care of the entire documentation procedure whether it is you procuring your student visa or assisting with your college application.

  3. Helping out with study material - With a vast knowledge and expertise, most consultants are informed with the question pattern and material associated with FMGE and can help draw out important take-aways from your study material.

  4. Counseling - Counselling programs can help define the candidate’s interests and aptitude for different courses in the Medical stream, thus helping them gain leverage over other candidates.

  5. Point of Access- The right consultant is your point of contact in case of any queries or emergencies and can help you out and take ownership of the entire process end-to-end from the convenience of your home country.

Education Pattern and Language Issue for MBBS in Ukraine

The syllabus of the Medical course taken up in Ukraine is divided into 3 major parts:

1. Pre-Clinical

2. Para-Clinical

3. Clinical

Language can be perceived as either a problem or an opportunity in Ukraine. All students are mandated to learn the official language of Ukraine as a part of the syllabus. There is enough guidance and support provided to learn the language so most students get a good grasp on it soon. Good command over the local language can get you ahead of the curve as you will be able to mix with the locals and help understand patients more effectively. However, for those who struggle with learning the language, it can prove to be rather difficult to go ahead with the course. Being a foreign country, it is extremely important to be able to mix well and understand the locals, especially if the service being provided is healthcare. Students need to put in additional effort and gain proficiency in the language to be able to sustain in Ukraine.

In Ukraine, the teaching medium in medical universities is an English medium, some of the Medical Universities also teaches in Ukrainian or Russian medium. Foreign students like Students from India who go to Ukraine for doing MBBS choose the English medium for their convenience.

Why reserve seats for MBBS in Ukraine before April (No need to pay any amount just book the seat

Reserving your seat in an MCI-approved Medical University in Ukraine before April is a good idea to have a clear-cut career strategy. Many times, it is observed that while waiting for NEET results, students may forget the passing deadline to apply for a Medical course in Ukraine, thus losing out on the opportunity. Even if the candidate is still unsure about where they would want to pursue their career, it is a good option to reserve your seat in prior, to be able to plan for the future. Another reason why it is a good idea is because of the number of applications that come in yearly. Medical universities in Ukraine have a strict intake of students, so reserving your seat can help in securing admission easily without worrying about the number of seats still available as on a later date. Top medical universities in Ukraine generally close admissions by August, therefore it is always better to reserve your seat so as to not miss out on the same. Enrollment too happens on a first-come, first-serve basis. We suggest reserving your slot much in prior so you can wait for both the intakes, in March as well as September.
